Crazy Idea, Or Genius?

Ok well here goes. I am getting a new pond fitted tomorrow, it is going to be a 6ft long by 5ft wide by 5ft deep, which will mean that my current preformed pond is coming out and is going to be free. It is about 4ft long by 3ft wide by about 3ft deep. Now you may know where I am going with this but, I was wondering if it would be possible to convert it into a saltwater pond. It would be inside my garage so no problem with the elements interfering. So, any ideas? I know there are issues with visablity and getting lights above it but does anyone have any experience with anything like this. Ovbiously I am not looking for a touch pool like in aquariums but I am open to ideas. If not salty, does anyone have any other ideas for uses?

dont see the point, alot to run, heating etc and fish arnt that great from the top

Possible, but tricky. I guess it would depend greatly if you were looking at doing tropical or coldwater marine.

What about a coldwater rock pool - you could keep beadlet anemones etc

i checked on the aquarium calculator really quick so this may be wrong, but if i was you, id keep a black tip

if i was you id go with some freshwater rays if its a 3ftx3ftx6ft sqaure pond not deepest part is 3 ft kinda thing

also a freshwater eel tank would be cool however a pirana pond would also be very cool

id keep a HUGE reef- take back what i said about shark , really cruel, after watching videos of sharks on youtube in tanks, and comparing them to the ones i saw in the maldives, it just seems inhumane

A coldwater setup could be quite good, but I dont think I have ever seen any coldwater salty fish or inverts for sale at my lfs, except for the Horseshoe crabs which they keep in tropical conditions. The eels would be nice but would probable jump out. Pirhana could be a choice, but would they jump out?

If you do cold water you can take a walk down southend pier as they reported seeing corals down there.. more then likely you'll find rubbish or worse..

It is very likely that there are beadlet anemonies there now it is cleaner - they would colonise the wooden struts - would be cool to take a look one day
