Crazy Guppies

hey guys!
i started a tropical aquarium a few days ago... i've always had goldfish until now!

i have 5 female (3 of which i suspect are pregnant) and 2 male guppies, some neons and corys.

my red tailed female guppy has been chasing the other guppies, inc males away from her and around the tank whilst nipping. whilst the other female guppies, when not being chased by the red one.. seem so swim alone, swat each other away and stick their heads in the plants i have floating on the top of the tank.
the red guppy doesn't seem to bother any of the other fish in the tank, only the other guppies.

is she aggressive because she's pregnant? please help!

it's a 30L tank..

i asked the aquarium guy if theres a rule to how many fish in the tank, but he pointed out that at the shops they stock numerous fish in one tank and dont have many problems.

the other guppies and fish seem to get along really well.. it's just this one female red guppy that seems to chase away the other guppies, today i've noticed she's stopped chasing the males.

to me, in comparrison to other pictures of pregnant guppies... she doesn't seem overly pregnant.

Looks pregnant to me, the dark black spot near the anus is a big giveaway

as she gets close the giving birth she will chase away other fish

I'd also say your over stocked by the sound of it although i could be wrong but i am pretty sure. Did you cycle your tank?

i'm so excited to have this aquarium!
hopefully when i get home from work today, my red female will have spared the other female guppies.

i think my tank is overcrowded too.. but how do i decide which fish have to go? i love them all perhaps get rid of 2 out of the 4 corys i have?.

hopefully she'll give birth soon and calm down... this morning she was chasing the other female guppies.. but the yellow male i have which she is chasing in the picture... was chasing her around for a change!

oh and the tank wasnt cycled.. i didnt realise.... i have been checking the ph amonium and nitrate (or whatever it is) .. every day ... ph is 7, amonium and nitrate are 0... is that what they're ment to be?

Cories are best kept in groups,personally I would give the cories away as a group, and go from there.
If you havent cycled your tank im surprised your neons havent died!

the neons seem pretty happy... all 10 are still there!
i came home today to find one fry in my tank... it's been hiding amongst the plants... it's so cute!!

i'm not sure which female it's from though. the 3 females that had gravid spots still have a dark spot there... hopefully it will survive so i can find out.

i havent put it into a seperate tank, although i feel cruel, i believe that nature should take its place.

i still have little idea how the cycle works... should i have high/low ammonia, nitrite or what?
the tank has been set up for a week so far.

can someone please explain it to me in "dummy's" terms please!!!!

You shouldnt have added all those fish, if any within the first few weeks of cycling and setting up your tank to be fair.
Should of gone for much more hardier fish such as zebra danios to begin with.
