Crayfish Question

I have a simple question about crafish. When molting I know they need iodine and calcium. I have heard that just putting iodine in the water is useless because they can't suck it out of the water, is the same true for calcium? Should i feed it food with iodine in it? any help at all would be great.

Ive never heard that they needed iodine and calcium. When my crayfish have molted I just kept the water clean and left them alone and they were perfectly fine.
