Crap-tastic

Hi,

just wondering if anyone can help me here. I have a tank with 11 Platties (I've other fish in there too, but the Platties are the culprits in this case) who won't stop crapping all over the place, I can't even take a photo of my tank to put up on the site because there's always a few of them dragging a string around with them, so it doesn't look nice.

I'm sure that they were having a competition the other day to see you could have the longest one ... the winners was at least 7 inches long ... talk about foul, I was expecting a banner to drop down that said "Hello Keith" !!!

Anyway, I was wondering if it is down to their diet, I only feed them flakes. Should I try some other kind of food?

Variety is the spice of life! Your probably feeding them too much if they have 7 inch craps.

dont worry , platies are poop machines , trust me i know! however , at 7" long maybe you should add a bit more green to the diet

mine are the same i only have 4 in a 20 gal and the ammount of crap on the rocks plants and substarte is amazing and its looks terrible

We have three Platies, and I concur that they make a whole lot of mess. In other news, my precious avatar originality has been lost forever.

sorry about that Edge, I thought I was the only Terry Pratchett reader on the forums. I've been thinking of changing my avatar though ... Vimes looks too miserable to me.
