This is Jack. He has some finage issues. But he'll grow out of it.

This is Cracker. She's exceptional. She eats everything. She was hilarious wrestling a pea. Sorry no pic of that. I just watched and enjoyed.

"Hi! What's to eat?"

"I'm famished!"

"I can't eat this stuff!"

This is Surprise.

She doesn't like her home. It has too much turbulance. She has a new home on it's way.

"Who are you? Can I come over there. I's too rough over here."

"Are you going to just ignore me?"

"Ok, then, Bye!"

Yes, hairy, I think I will be. I also got my first lfs betta veil tail boys last weekend.

I got these Thursday p.m., FedEx. I got 5 bettas (2 boys and 3 females) and 25 pygmy cories. I was settling them in until 3 or 4 a.m. Friday morning. Then the forum was down, so the pics got posted now.

I guess I overdid the # of pics. )

Some betta folk were curious about what came in the Cracker Jack Surprise from bluebettausa.com. It's a grab bag special online. The first 3 Crown Tail Opaque Whites came in the grab bag. I didn't know what I would get. The Green/Red Half Moon Double Tails were also on special, but I chose them.

my good gosh I love the Opaque White Crown Tail! How much did he run you? And are they easy to care for?

The three opaque whites were $25 + shipping. The shipping was $50 total for 30 fish overnight air express, Fed Ex. It worked out to $1.66 per fish shipping (no tax). They can also be shipped overnight USPS for much less.

I think they are all three going to be quite the lookers. They are still coloring up, and Jack will fill in his fins. He was marked down because his fins are damaged.

I had really been taken by pink and off-white bettas, so I am in shock and awe that I got three. I'm looking forward to seeing him fluff up and strutt his stuff.

I'm also quite taken with Delilah. She is so formidable. I had an idea what he would look like, but I didn't have a clue about her.

When it comes to qualifying the CT's, I'm really just piecing it together. I don't know what the different tail, color, and species are called. They don't tell you what you will get. They just grab a selection and send it. B) BlueBetta, the breeder, is a well respected world class, SE Asian breeder. There is no indication of their particular breeding anywhere. What you see is what you get.

As far as I know they are cared for just like any betta, Mac.

He is lovely. I am very taken with his and the girl's color. It's like pink taffy.
He is at the moment flirting with Surprise.

For all the looks that Jack has, Samson has the cutest light green nose in a dark face.

I can't get them to flare yet a;though they both are shamelessly flirting with the girls. They have both tried to build bubble nests i think, but there's not enough protection and too much current.

Poor frustrated dears.

suuuper pretty Bettas! I'm so jealous. I love the green/red DT HM boy!! and the Opaques are all so gorgeous. I definitely agree that they're CT's ~ they have really nice rays too! Are you planning on spawning them?

It seems a shame not to spawn them, but I just started to get bettas last weekend. I'm not sure I'm ready. Seems like another big investment.

Thank you for the nice comments. I have yet to get really great pics of them flaring. I see that the CTs don't flare as full as the other types. I thought Jack was a little skimpy, but perhaps it's the type he is.
