about 10 mins ago I watched one of my two red crabs climb its way up the edge of my internal filter (juwel vision 260, sealed inplace internal filter). Anyway I watched him climb up the edge and then out of the water. I lifted the lid to have a look what he was up to as there is a way of escaping the tank up there. On lifting the lid I see both crabs sitting there. When they saw me one shot back into the tank and the other shot down the hole in the filter top. The crab is now down the bottom of the filter sat in the tube that the filter head fixes into.

anyone any idea what to do?

is he sucked in there? why not turn the filter off and see if you can coax him out with something thin

Turn filter off, remove sponges and casing and filter he will come out again, is there a hole further down the box as my platys came out there.

disaster averted.

got the little bugger out. The middle plastic bit in the filter pulls out the I knocked him (genlty) out into a bucket of tank water. Then he escaped my clutches and got loose on the front room carpet. Trapped him under a pint glass and put him back in the tank.

only problem is, how do I stop it from happening again. Plus there is a whole in the tank lid there for the wires and that to go where they can easily climb out.

any ideas on how I can plug the holes.

Didn't think they'd be able to climb out of there.

:lol:Catching him sounding so funny bless him, stuff it with filter floss.
