Long story short: bought 25+ CPDs 5 months ago and after ~3 months in I've started seeing something 'bruise-like' on them. I guessed it was a flesh wound. It was never on more than 1-2 at the same time.
I have dwarf gouramis in there (1 male, 2 females) so I suspected them but I have never seen them attack any other fish (apart from themselves, lol).

After losing around 8 CPDs, I moved them last week to a hospital 5 gallon tank. Dosed with appriopriate amounts of methylene blue and started to medicate them just in case. I even add fresh garlic juice to their cyclops food. Today I lost another 2 and one of them has that bruise again and it looks like it's been hit head on, since it's bended like an L letter. Now I have this crazy thought - are the dominant ones killing other fish? It doesn't seem to be fungal infection, fish was fine in the morning and now it's literally broken in half.

I'm so sad since I just keep losing them no matter what I do. My main 30 gallon tank (where they were before) is fine - no other fish has ever died or showed their symptoms.

CPDs can be quite fiesty toward each other but I have never seen them do actual damage. Plenty of plants to break line of sight as it really is out of sight out of mind with them.

Personally I would not have them with other fish as they are so small and timid that pretty much everything else out competes them at feeding time (my cherry shrimp even succeed at chasing them off the food).

What are your water parameters? As well as ammonia, nitrites and nitrates please include pH, GH and temp. They do prefer water that is slightly hard and basic. I have heard that losses are common soon after purchasing. I was fortunate in that the shop I got mine had them for over a month.

There is "something" in CPD's
I, my son and lots of others encountered the same issues.

I suspect there to be a viral issue (like the Iridovirus in Dwarf Gouramis)

It's weird because their shape changed a bit as well, especially in males, more moon-shaped. Most of the casualties were males, at least that's what I remember...

Also tank is nicely planted (couldn't catch them at all)

can the OP post a pic of the sick fish so we can see the issue?

Another one close to death and it looked normal...

Now there's this one that is bented like an L, and you can see that wound that I'm talking about:

And another, with whole body malformed:

I'm getting tired of keeping them, definitely won't be getting them after this....
