Courting? What's That?

HI, I have a female and male Pearl Gourami, I am not sure but my male seems to poke the female on her side sometimes chase her even. I have 4 angelfish as well in my 40gallon tank. Can someone explain to me what "Courting" is exactly, and is this what is going on? i have watched a few Youtube videos and i saw they will swim around like a ball spinning when they want to make eggs lay. But i have nothing like this going on.

So, they are gonna get married, you got a wedding to save up for.

What you have seen is part of the beginning steps in mating. There will be more steps, and if a mating pair of fish is something you dont want you may be SOL lol.

WOW! interesting lol. I don't mind at all as long as no one dies or gets hurt haha. I have noticed the male has turned more orange on his belly/lower fin area. What can I do for them so they have a good egg laying without them getting eaten up by other fish? This is a very interesting project for me to do now I can't wait hehe. Should i separate them into my spare 10 gallon tank?
