Love your snails, I hope to eventually raise the pH in my planted tank above 7 so I can get more inverts, but that's proving to be difficult with ADA aquasoil/
For now though, my nerite is in seperate 2gal tank.

I'm quite sure they aren't common pond snails.. They are already larger then typical pond/pest snails.. and the way their face/body looks is just different then pest snails..

My camera doesn't allow for good close up shots of anything small, so the pic is kinda distorted..

If in a month they haven't grown then I guess they are just pest snails, but I think they will probably keep growing..

Only time will tell though, so I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

You and your bloody snail thread, thanks to you I bought a gold apple snail today

Poor guy was the only one living amongst about a dozen of his fallen comrades.Hes doing well though and enjoying life with my shrimp and galaxy rasboras.The shrimp seem to like getting snail rides about the tank

Same deal with the ones I bought.. the only 2 I actually saw moving in the tank..

Yeh im gonna start breeding them for selling.I need to collect some other colours.So far I have the gold and will be getting some DSP's and jades off my missus and maybe persuade her to give me one of the pink ones.

I don't think the gold and blue are very desirable.. so if you can get other more interesting colors they'll probably get you more money..

Around here I got what I could.. very few lfs sell them in the first place, and the ones they get are ugly... I had to pickup the ones I got from someone locally..

I think the pinks and purples are probably your best bet.

Its actually quite the opposite here for the blue ones although the golds are not desirable.The missus has loads of the DSP, im gonna get at least 6 off her probably double that.You can only get the golds in the lfs here, the others you need to order online.
