Hi,

How long do females RCS stay berried for? I've got a couple of females who are berried now that I'm tempted to transfer to a breeding net so the offspring don't become tasty puffer snacks! Which leads me on nicely to the second question, which is how long would I have to leave them in there to get to a reasonable sort of size? If it's going to be ages I might not bother!

Cheers.

Yup, dwarf puffers though. I have seen the very small ones being snacked upon but the medium and fully sized cherries are largely ignored. My DPs are just hitting sexual maturity now so that could possibly change, but so far so good.

they are normally berried for around 3 weeks
then another 6-8 weeks before they wont be of snaking size for the puffers

your best bet would be to section a small part off if you could and let your shrimpies breed in there and just keep transferring them over to the puffer side
or get a small seperate tank with a sponge filter hun and let them build up their numbers in there so the puffers will have a constant supply of snacks and you'll have lots of shrimps
