Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won'
I went to Walmart earlier for some Stress Coat...because it's time for my weekly water change on my 22 gallon.
I normally don't even look at their fish..because all they have are reds usually..and I'm just not partial to red fish for some reason (dunno why just haven't ever felt the need to buy one...although I did buy one for my friend Amelia..but that's because she wanted it..anyways)..but for some reason I stopped and milled through all the cups of reds...and way in the back (the shelf they sit on is usually about 4-5 deep in cups..they don't sit them on top of one another) was this cute little purplish-pink and white marble.
Well I'm a sucker for purple fish and I just had one of my blue/black HM boys (Jae actually) in my 22 gallon die (from what I dunno..he was fine when I left Friday and Monday I came back to work he was dead...kinda wierd) so I figured "why not" I had an open slot...so nabbed him up.
I named him Dok (pronounced Doh-K) which is Thai for Decorative Pattern.
He's still real skittish, and stays in the back of his stall behind a plant, so the only picture I got was him still in his WM cup.
And btw I'd like to report the great conditions of this Walmart. They've even gotten new lids for the cups.
A you can see they've added holes all around the outer edge, along with the center holes (for more air intake).
They've also changed the feeding instructions to say, feed once a day (instead of once a week)
They've also changed the WC instructions to change the water 1/3 weekly and to use dechlorinated water (instead of no WC instruction at all)...and that doesn't mean change the cup water...they mean whatever setup you're keeping them in.
I mean, it's still not great...but atleast it's better then what it used to be.
