two of my boys have no problem with current and their both crowntails plus they love to pay in the bubbles. but on the other hand my other two hate it. so its up to you your boy may just surprise you.

A heater cant really boil the fish thermostatic heaters only go up to the temperature that they are set to, you arent going to boil the water with a heater. A more powerful one is more a waste of electricity than anything else.
