Could this stocking idea work?

This thread is moving rapidly. Will try to capture issues.

Weather/dojo loaches...these are not compatible with the other fish so I would re-home them. Not sure how hillstream loaches entered the discussion, but Sarah is correct, they are not compatible either due to current and lower temperatures.

African Butterfly fish...this is not a community fish. I had a pair for many years, they are best on their own (as a species I mean) as they will eat any small fish approaching the surface (assuming they are in good shape) or attempt to nip other fish. They are best as a pair, but a small group is OK if there is space, and need floating plants with open water between.

On the clown loaches, unless you intend getting an 8-foot tank today, I would re-home the two. Every day is risking detrimental development because they are not in the environment they expect, meaning a group. [As an aside, this is a species many in the hobby have lobbied to have removed from stores unless the purchaser acquires some sort of permit; they are not home aquarium fish for 90% of "aquarists" because of their needs. Most do not have large enough tanks.]

Weather loaches are capable with other fish. Though I was concerned about the butterfly fish as they would likely eat the smaller fish.

How do weather/dojo Loaches not work? They get along with my fish currently.

I have a four footer, can they go in there for a few months until I can get a larger tank in Jan/Feb?

The weather loach is not compatible with the other fish mentioned previously. Here is reliable data on this fish:
http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/misgurnus-anguillicaudatus/

As soon as we place more than one species in an aquarium, creating a "community" setup, we encounter a host of requirements/conditions that must be compatible. There is much more to it than a fish "getting along" with another fish. This is the value of research before acquisition, something many stores frown upon because it means selling fewer fish, sadly. I have a local store with a PC terminal available to customers, and the staff encourage customers to use it before buying fish. Few stores do this.

Weather loaches are fine. As long as the OP doesn't have small fish.

Forgive me, but I cannot agree with this. There are temperature issues that make the mentioned fish incompatible. And with the SAE and clowns, this is not good to begin with.

Wait is the OP going to get clown loaches? Thought he wasn't? Also SAE get 6-8 inches. They eat algae so I hope the OP doesn't have a new tank. I don't know what the op is getting. OP tell us what you want to stock with/fish plans and then we can help

Back in post #1 of this thread he mentions these fish already housed in a 20 gallon but he intends moving into the new 75 gallon tank.
