i have a juwel aquarium that had tropical fish in it before i changed to marine.
its a rio 300 litre.
the tank was brandnew when i bought it and it has been in the same place since i got it.
i have a very deep sand bed in it,and when i was putting the live rock in it i made sure that no spikey bits were going through the sand.
ive just noticed about 5 mins ago that where the tank is sitting on the cabinet their is a dried up salt aroung 1 coner between the stand and the cabinet, rubbed it away and it is a bit damp in the join??
i have noticed in my lfs the same sort of thing that happens in the bottom of a sump tank.
my water level does not go down too much about a litre every 3 days due to having an open top and 2 sets of t5s(6 bulbs)
does or could this mean that ive got a crack along the bottom of my tank???

nope not leaking, just remembered that my skimmer overflowed the other night and i woke up to water on the floor and all over my tank.
must just be where its stuck between the tank and cabinet.
phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, panic over, for a moment then i thought that i was going to have to go out tommorow and buy a bigger tank!!

lol bet thats a relief (though an excuse to buy a larger tank might not be such bad thing....)

Cranked tanks are my biggest fear, especially as both my tanks at the moment are on the second floor of the house.

dont think the missis would like a bigger tank!!
were supose to be moving next years so i will definatly be gettin a much larger tank.
5 or 6 foot with a sump will do nicley

As a point of reference, any and all cracks or imperfections on the bottom glass/seals of the tank will show up FAST. The bottom supports the weight of all that water and if it fails, the problem is quick and messy. 9 times out of 10 you won't be able to catch it before your too late :(
