Could I?

Would I be able to put a few female bettas in a 20 gallon tank? It has 3 guppies 4 peppered cories and a bolivian ram. Would It be all right if I kept one guppy from the first batch of fry so I have 4 of them? How many female bettas could I get?

You should be able to as female are less agressive but there still may be a chance of the females turning on the other fish and bulling or killing the Or the other fish picking on her female and stressing her out and killing her in time. Though it might all go to plan and nothing goes wrong.

i wouldnt put any betta in with guppies. Male or female. though you are mroe likely to get away with a female with them. its up to you if you want to take the chace though. This shoudnt over stock it if you have a good filter and do weekly water changes. Though Im not that good with stocking fish so please get someone else word for it as well

Remember that bolivian ram NEED heavily planted tanks with lots of places to hide. And lots of filtration. Bettas don't like excessive filtration or heavily planted tanks.

But heres a pic of my tank, would this be planted enough for a ram?

I madea little underground tunnel/cave for the cories by the little plant in the front on the left, you can see that that area is a little raised up and a cave for the ram in the back right corner. Thres a homemade airstone too Lol I just realized how hidden the filter is.

Add some big leaved plants and it should be fine.

On the contrary, I know all fish are different, but all of the fish in my community tank otherwise aren't supposed to 'get along' well together according to that compatibility chart that's floating around. I have four female bettas in my community tank with four female guppies, three mollies and three bamboo shrimp. Maybe I just got lucky, who knows.

Female bettas can get along with female guppies, its the male guppies that gets them fighting (bright colors and long fins).

They are also fine with mollies and shrimp. What compatibility chart are you talking about?

oh i though male and female guppies couldnt really go with female or male bettas

I haven't found a female betta that would fight with a female guppy yet. Male bettas are a different story, they will chase both.
