I would never put a Molly in with female Bettas, because, in my experience, the Mollies are EXTREMELY abusive to female Bettas. I tried to put a female Betta in a community tank with my Mollies, and I found the female Betta (who is extremely aggressive with other females, and that's why she wasn't going into one of my female Betta communities) cowering in a corner with one of the Mollies biting her.
I have been known to put 2 female Bettas together, but I hang around the entire rest of the day and peer at them often, just in case. Sometimes it works...most of the time, it doesn't.
As for males and females...too much can go wrong, and it simply isn't worth the risk.
