Hello,

About a month ago I purchased a mix of plants for one of my tanks. Recently I noticed that I also received a bunch of snails in the mix. I’ve never had snails before but I have heard that some species will multiply like crazy. Are either of these that kind? Also, what do I feed snails? Do they only feed on algae? Preferred tank parameters?
The brown/orange ones are spread out all over my tank, however the other kind are scarce so I don’t have great pictures of them.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if you scroll a we bit down on the webpage, there’s a link to a snail guide, should be some useful reading while you wait for a reply

Thanks for all of the replies. They are not the same, I only have the one picture of that kind because they are currently pretty small and hard to get a clean picture of. That one happened to be on the top of my tank underneath the lid, and is the biggest of them all. Their shells seem to be straight rather than in a spiral like the others.

The little snail is a bladder snail from what I can tell. If the shell turns towards the left (sinistral) is bladder, but if the shell goes right (dextral) is a pond snail.
