I have lost 3 cory's in 4 days and more look ill. I have a 125 litre tank with about 10 cory's and the same guppys and a plec. The water parameters are fine and no other fish have any problems. The problem with the corys started when a pepper cory started being unable to sit still on the bottom, if he tried he started to kind of float up off the bottom, this got gradually worse and then found him dead when coming home from work, since then I have lost both Panda's and now a trulli is looking like going the same way, not been able to sit on the bottom. All three that have died have had a red dot on their underside.

Any ideas?

Sorry about the losses.

I have had something similar happen when adding new stock. It appeared to be stress.

The red dot is something I have seen after a Cory died and not before, so I have come to think it might just be a result of death. :(

Clearly I was befuddled just as you are. On the other hand I must ask what recent changes have happened or have you done to the tank?

When you say "fine" can you enumerate? Temp etc may be important.

Let me also say that pandas can be very sensitive, especially if they are farm bred pandas. These cute little farm bred pandas are fragile and can stress out easily and that can affect the rest of the tank/Corys.

I've personally been a huge fan of cories and have owned more then 70 adult cories.

Its happened to me before but it was because of the substrate, kind to share what substrate you are using for the lil guys?
