Hi folks,

My 5 peppered corys are spending all evening hiding behind the logs. Before this, they've been playing all over the tank since I got them on Saturday, but tonight they didn't even come out for their supper. Do you think anything is wrong or is it that they have only just discovered that they have a cave?

Just to rule water quality out can you please post stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, probably worn they selves out with exploring the tank, probably just having a good rest in there new cave.

No need to worry just yet, they will come out soon when they are hungry.

It's more than likely simply because they found the new log :)
Corydoras are nocturnal, and it's normal for them to hide throughout the day. Nothing to worry about. Try feeding them after turning off the lights.

My cories don't come out much when its light or I'm around. Although as soon as the food starts to sink, they start hoovering :)

They have been out for breakfast, so that's all right then. :D The first few days they were all over the tank, but now they seem to have gone a bit shy. But they are looking healthy so that's a relief. If I fussed as much about my children as I do over my fish I'd be a nervous wreck by now lol

Just a thought. I used some Interpet Floraboost on the tank yesterday, you don't suppose that could have upset my boys? They have just seemed more nervous for the last 24 hours.

Can you tell us what the med is for.

I doubt it's that then, but fish are funny and corys are sensitive little creatures, maybe dilute it abit with a water change if you are worried.

Thanks, I think I'll do that. Make me feel better anyway lol. At least I caught a quick glimpse of them just now, so I know I've still got 5. Nerve-racking to only see 2 at a time and not being able to count them.

Youre' as bad as me for head counting my fish .
