I hope everything stays on track since my mom is sick of buying fish for me.Whoops, must have missed the second page of this thread when I read it just now!
G;ad you're back on track. best of luck!
I had one with a bio-wheel but it broke the first month I had it so I use a regular Topfin filter which is working like a charm.Does your filter have a bio-wheel? If it does its safe to change the cartridge part every 4-6 weeks. The bio-wheel should never be changed, but the cartridge is designed for mechanical and chemical filtration. The bio-wheel's sole purpose is to support the bacteria needed for the aquarium. Stick with the partial water changes, if you see any uneaten food on the bottom, cut back on the amount of food at each feeding or how often you feed.
I hope this helps.
I was surprised my clown pleco survived because I read they are not really hardyOk .
I hope not D: Fred is my pride and joy who pulls the tank together.Sorry to hear you lost them, never change filter media unless its basically falling apart, we all learn from our mistakes
The clown pleco may have suffered also, but may end up with a shorter lifespan only time will tell, good luck with any new fish
Lol I thought he looked like a Fred. My dwarf gourami looked like a Max so I named him Max.Fred! Love it
I learned that with my oto's. I have one left and he was dead last night but came back to life this morningSome fish that are suppose to be weak survive some extreme hardships. Speaks for his tenacity.
