Hi guys, this may sound really silly and i apologize if it does but i have corys in each of my tank when i feed them i never see them eating anything. On rare occasions i have seen one with a bloodworm in its mouth but that is very rare.I have the pellets which they just dont even seem to touch they are still in the bottom of the tank all broken up the following morning.I have even tried flakes but they dont eat them either. So do they eat algea or what they all seem healthy and have grown since i got them so they must eat something but what??

They do eat algae.

I'm surprised they don't eat anything. How long do you look at them after feeding them? When do you feed them (always at the same time?)?

It takes my spotted cory several minutes to find any tablets or pellets, whereas my albinos can smell flakes that float at the surface and they can find tablets a few seconds after I drop them in.

It differs from species to species, I guess. :dunno:

I always feed them at the same time and sit watching cos i think its fascinating watching the fish eat,i guss they must rumage around in the gravel when im not watching but i know for sure they dont like the pellets i always have to syphon the crumbled up mess out the following morning lol fussy little buggers

Some cories don't eat at night and others don't eat during the day. (At least that's true when I turn the lights on all of a sudden when the room is dark.) Try feeding them after lights are out or at dawn?

hey

my cory go all over the bottem and look for bits and pieces and occasionally eat some flake if it is on the bottem and they seem to be doing fine like that. :)

Usually cories don't stop to eat if they find some pellets'/chips. They just swim all around, plow bottom by their muzzles and try to find some food. Very good food for cories are e.g. granules that sink down on bottom. When cories are swimming around they occasinally find some granules too.. Worms are ok too, but if you have other fishes, they usually eat those worms quicker than cories can find them.
