I know that cories are schooling fish, But I was wondering if I can have 2-3 cories alone in a 3-gallon tank? I also have the question about putting cories in with my guppies in my 10gallon tank would that work? I know that the guppies will have fry but im going to try using the cories as a baby eater. That seems harsh but its the only thing I could do. Can I get 4 neon tetras? with 2 cories? would that fit? Im pretty sure that's pushing my luck but there only gonna be in there for a little while. Im planning on getting a new tank in January. Maybe even sooner. But just for now can I all those fish fit? :/

1. You cannot keep corys in a 3 gallon tank. Corys (except pygmys) grow to at least 2 inches, bronzes and peppereds to 3 inches. Even pygmys need more than 5 gallons I would say. They would suffocate in their own ammonia; besides, they need a fair amount of space to move around in.

2. You also should not attempt to keep neon tetras in a 3 gallon: they are very sensitive to water quality and need to be in an established tank, at least 10 gallon.

3. You could keep corys in a 10 gallon, but I would not rely on corys to eat any fry; they are scavengers and not at all predatory. They might suck up a newborn guppy fry accidentally but would never be able to do the hunting you require.

3 corys in a 3 gallon tank is pushing it, depending on what type you get. They don't produce a lot of waste but some corys grow to 3" or more so that's a lot of inches. About the only thing you can put in a 3 gallon tank and not overstock it is a single betta and maybe some african dwarf frogs. Corys and guppies would be fine together but I don't think they will help with eating the fry. The guppies will do that themselves. Don't worry too much about that, it's just what happens in nature.

That's what I thought... So I can put 3 cories in with my guppies? I want 3-4 tetras will that be too much?

3 cories and the guppies in your 10 gallon would be fine, but you wouldn't have enough room to have a proper (atleast 6) school of tetras.
