I saw a few of these at my lps and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. Am I the only one who gets a little frustrated with all the different species of cory? How likely is it that pet stores mis-label thier fish?

Corydoras punctatus are often miss labeled and are actually C. schwartzi, C. ambiacus, C. agassizii, or C. leucomelas. I bought some about 2 months ago that were labeled C. punctatus, but were actually C. leucomelas. I like both of them, so I really didnt care which one it was. They are very active, especially if kept in a group of 6 or more. So far they have not been to picky and seem very healthy.

They are definately C. leucomelas. Who would tell their pet shop about something like this?

I think there were only a few at the store, but I think I might buy them once I get my 10 gallon. :)

It might not be the pet store thats mislabeling them. Lots of the time the place where they get their fish will ship them mislabeled like that. You really have to be careful when buying cories if you are looking for a certain species, because they are often mislabeled.
