I have this catfish with a cotton-wool like patch on the fish jst behind the dorsal fin, this was present first on christmas day. On boking day i went out and obtained interpets anti-fungus and fin-rot treatment which i added on Monday evening.

There has been no improvement so far, wot else can i do as i know that they can tolerate salt water treatment.

Please Help

Many Thanks

James

Can you issolate the sick fish and add a interpet internal bacterial med to the tank at half dose, but you will have to increase aeration.

No, regretably iscolation is not possible at this time i have added the tratment and increased airation via an aircurtain and the tank is a vision 180

If you have the anti internal bacteria i would only go in with half the dose as some fishies are funny with mixing meds, as columnaris can soon wipe a tank out, and i find that the finrot med is not always enough, so fishkeepers also add the anti internal bacteria med too.

Hi jama12uk :)

How is your cory doing?

Your fish has a bacterial infection, and when this happens it's important to try to figure out why he caught it.

There are always potentially harmful bacteria in an aquarium, but it is only when the fish's natural immunity is low that the become infected. Do you have a new aquarium? Do you do weekly water changes and bottom vacuuming? Avoid overfeeding? How warm do you keep the water?

This was a fish that purchased on the friday before christmas, i wont use them again

Thanks
