Hello all!
I haven’t had a chance to introduce myself yet! This profile is used by me (Taylor) & my husband (Chris). Most of the time it will be me posting but just in case!

Anyways! We just got two new Corys yesterday and as I was putting them into their specimen tank to acclimate them to the tank water, one of the fish decided he was going to jump out of the mini tank! Unfortunately, I had placed the mini tank on the counter next to the tank but in between the tank and the sink.. and he ended up in the sink. Which resulted in 3 attempts to keep him from wiggling and flipping into the drain. Slippery bugger. Anyways. We got him back into the tank and 20 min later, placed both Dora’s into the main tank.

I fully expected to have a dead fish over night but we woke up to him just as active as ever! However!!!! He looks like he’s got some internal bleeding and I’m trying to figure out if it’s an emergency or if it’s something to ride out.
Info:
He’s active and eating.
Swimming normally and schooling with the others.
Fins all look ok..
I was thinking about adding some Betta fix since it’s essentially watered down of the melafix (spelling?)
Ive posted a photo below.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

The fish in the picture is more likely to have a rash, physical damage from landing in the sink and then you trying to grab it. The damage looks like it is on the outside (on the skin). Assuming the tank is clean and water quality is good, it should heal up by itself without any need for medication. If it starts to get worse and spreads, then a broad spectrum medication like Triple Sulpha (Tri Sulfa) might help.

Monitor the fish over the next couple of days and see how it goes. :)

Thank you!!!
We did a water change again today, and made sure to get a good look at the little one. He does look to be getting better.
Thanks again!
