If i was to stock a tank specifically for corys would you use the same inch rule as in normal tanks. I was thinking this because the corys will all be at the bottom and would that affect how many corys you have space for cos normally you have top middle and bottom fish

As a general rule of thumb, you can still use the 1" per gallon. I have found that Cories are not a very dirty fish, I feed them live black worms, they like groups, so I am able to keep them at larger #s. But You certainly can start in a well cycled tank with 1" per gallon, in my experience.

If you have other fish in the tank then their needs must be concidered. But th Cory will not feel crowded to have large groups of his mates.
