Cory Suggestions

I didn't remember you mentioning Ian before. Now though I think I do remember you mentioning another half. But earlier I thought you were in it alone with a parent near by? Digging into this old brain is a feat of engineering!

lol, no i moved 200 miles away from my parents when i was 18 (now 25), moved around a few cities but always been a way away from my family, lived with friends then in my own house in leeds, then about 2 years ago (almost exactly, anniversary is tomorrow!) I met Ian who moved in with me not too long after.

we're not officially engaged or anything like that, but we're making general plans in that area for the next few years!

Other half used to come on here a bit, forum name Big Ian.

Well I am glad you are not alone. I vaugely remember Big Ian. But you have seen how good my vauge memories are. Did a parent come around when you were sick. I thought I remembered something about a fish tank and a parent. Sigh.... I suppose I better quit while I am ahead.

lol

umm my dad kept fish when he was younger, could be that

ian was living with his parents before he moved in with me, he had a tank there so his parents house could have been mentioned at some point?!?!

don't worry, my memories are a bit vague too. friend of mine from school as a teenager messages me on facebook the other day saying she remembers hurting herself at my birthday party in my old house, i have no recolection whatsoever of any parties there... i guess they must have happened but i've not a clue.

I have C. duplicareus on a black substrate and they look great.

I would suggest: C. weitzmani, C. similis, C. concolor, C. axelrodi, C. guapore, C. gossei something along that line.

The C. weitzmani might be expensive, but a group that big of the Corydoras schultzei black will be very expensive. I have seen a group of 5 go for 300 US dollars.

ouch, that is expensive!! not that i'm put of drastically mind you..... :shifty: we have just sold our marine tank so we've a kitty of a couple of hundred pounds with nothing in particular to spend it on :shifty: :D

our substrate is black too, or certainly v dark browny colour

like the look of similis and guapore

purdy fishies!!

I also have a group of C. similis on a black substrate. They look great too. The dark substrate makes their colors darken up nicely. Same with the C. duplicareus. The C. guapore are also very nice. I have almost bought a group of them several times and still would like a group. You really can not go wrong with any of those, but if I had to choose and after seeing them on the black substrate, I would go with the C. duplicareus. I only have 5, so I bet a group of 15-20 would be quite a site :good:

The blacks appear to be more accessable in England than the USA. We are larger and it will take longer for them to hit the common market. But it looks like they are running about 70 pounds for 5 in the UK and they are showing up in some lfs. See the other thread by drewry.

hmmm might have another look at the duplicareus that you all seem so fond of!

Need to have a sit down with Ian and browse through planet catfish a bit I reckon.
