hello. I'm pretty new here and to the whole fish keeping scene and need a bit of help.

I own a 2 and a half foot tank currently with

2 small marbeled angels
4 Platys
7 Neons (I USED to have 8... grrr angels!)
1 bristle mouth catfish
3 Corys

The three Corys are the species with the black stripe on their back. I love them, they create alot of energy and activity to my new tank. I wish to purchase 3 more (they are so damn expensive down here in OZ), but I really want to get the Albino Corys (their blood-shot eyes remind me of me after a huge night... :D like this morning...hmm) I was wondering if I could introduce 3 albinos to my tank, so I would have 3 Albinos and 3 of the other species... Would that pose any sort of problem? Would they all school-up or seperate into 2 groups?

Also (okay! I'm getting gready with the questions) my angels are sort of just sitting there being really shy and they wont eat any flake food (only neons ;) ) should I tempt them with something else? Like what?

thanks a bunch!

Your corries will divide from one another, which is why it's hard for breeders to cross breed the corries. They stay in their own groups. Sometimes they will go off but they'll go right back to their own group. How much is expensive...? I have several other questions, how much are neon tetras there? How much are corries ect... Basicaly, what is the price of your fish there? I haven't really noticed angels to be active so I dunno, at least my agensl were never too active.. Try worms... Blood worms or those cubed dried worms... Tublafex or fublaflex or osmething like that..

tim,go ahead get your 3 albinos if you like them. i have albinos and pandas[the one with a black stripe]. i did have 2 pandas and 3 albinos, they wont interbreed but they will live very happily.i only have one panda now ,[sad]and i was going to get two more [three is a good number to have]but two of the albinos seem to have paired off and the panda and the other albino go around together.so the panda seems to be thriving.that said they all play together happily, but if panda was lonely i would have got another 2 to keep him company. as long as you have ideally 3 of a kind although they will usually stick together, they like to have 'related ' friends as well. :) pebbles

Mine never did that, I had julie corries about 9 of them, and then I had like 13 green corries. They didn't want anything to do with one another at least most of the time. Sometimes the group would get mixed and they would swim for a good minute and then they would go off back into their normal group.

Hi.

Thanks for your help.

AllusiveLife, from memory i payed $12 for 8 neons, $5 each for the small angels, $4 each for my platies and $14 each for my corys. Assuming your in the U.S, our dollar is like 60 cents to your dollar. So you do the math :p

$14 to me is expensive for one cory, adds up when you get a few.

 OUCH! My petco will have sales of Green Corries for 99.cents a peice. Or they'll have Neons for 1.00 a peice... Sometimes mollies for 99.cents The female guppies are worth 1.30 and the male guppies are worth 1.75...

Amazon down here is 3 med angels for 5 dollars. Platties range from 1.00-2.00! That's not just expensive is ABSURD!
