will corys still shoal together with different types of corys. I have 3 albinos and wanted to get a few green ones.

I have never had 2 different kinds but I have heard that they will all stick together. My cories died because I didn't realize they were not getting food because of my tiger barbs. I was new to both the cories and tiger barbs. Tiger barbs are pigs. I should have had sinking food for them, but did not know until it was too late. Go ahead and get the ones you want to get, it should work out fine.

Yes and no. If your planning to get 3 corys make sure you get 3 of one kind. Please dont get just 1 of each cory because they DO prefer to be with their own kind. Hope you enjoy your corys. U might become addicted to them like alot of ppl are hehe

I'm going to offer the completely opposite opinion here. The corys will shoal together, but only out of necessity, not by choice. Visual cues, like color and shape, are the primary determiners in shoaling behavior. If the fish aren't the same color, their natural instinct will be to not shoal together. But, if they are stressed or otherwise feel threatened, it is better to shoal will fish that don't look alike than to not shoal at all. So, they will do it. But, the fish will be far, far, far more comfortable shoaling with fish that look like themselves. To do otherwise would go against the fish's natural instinct. And, really, replicating a little slice of nature is my personal goal in keeping an aquarium.

I have got 4 Bronze, 3 peppered and 4 Panda Corys. The only ones that hand about together are two of the Pandas. The rest just go their own seperate way. :(

If I understand you correctly, when you say "albino cories", you are talking about C. Aeneus and you are talking about adding some more C. aeneus (often called green or bronze). That will work out good, because they are the same species, one is just albino :good:

EDIT: Most Corydoras are meant to be kept in groups of their own kind. Corydoras stay in very large groups in the wild and are very sociable with each other. There are some types that stay in pairs, but arent that common in aquariums. Some Scleromystax are that way. I have learned that C. semiaquilus can be territorial after I saw my group fighting.

Ive had albino and green corys in the past. They always ignored each other. Now I have 3 peppered corys and there never apart.

Ive got 4 schwartzis, who always stay together, whether its making a circle up and down the glass or just sitting on the bogwood.I might get 3 juliis....they look similarish but theyre alot smaller at the LFS
I say theres only one way in finding out whether they'll shoal!!!!!!!!!!
