Hi all, I recently got 3xassort cory from a friend of mine which leaving town to collage. So he give all his fish to me. I lost 1xcory and 1xoto while they were getting use to the new tank water stats my firend use RO system :(. Now the remain cory dont seems to like bottom feeder at all to me they keep swimming up and down on the glass of my tank and during feeding they swim up for food and wasted my shinking shrine tablet. Is this normal? I'm planning on getting 3xmore cory cat today(different one) and add them to my current 25g to get those 2 in companie hoping they will learn from other to stay on bottom.

I have found that to be somewhat normal for new corys as they become accustom to their new surroundings. I just added some new ones to my 75 last weekend and they are doing the same thing. As long as they are eating, I wouldn't be too concerned.

al cories are active and often swim up the sides.make sure he is eating and breathing normally as that is a sighn of bad health

Mine do this too. They have been in the tank for about 2 months and dont do it as much. They do it when its feeding time, but all my fish go crazy when I open the lid..

EDIT: Mine eat non-stop, so if they arent eating or looking for food all the time, especially when they are young, then there might be a problem..

mine to try putting algie pellets in they will eat them and they sink so it should temp them to bottom feed!

Sinking pellets work well but I wouldn't use algae wafers for corys. They don't eat algae except as a last resort. I use Hikari Sinking wafers and also some Wardley sinking pellets. My angels and SAEs also love the Wardley pellets.

Thx for every ones help. They now seem abit normal and rest on bottom more offen alone with the other bigger cory I got. Hope they be healthy.
