Hey all,
I'm doing my weekly WC and one of my peppered corydoras isn't moving about like the others. He is also sitting kind of tilted and breathing pretty fast. Should I net him? Tank is cycled, nothing added.

Can u do a vid of him for us?

I was trying to get the video and, good news, he moved. Bad news I can't see him anymore so I don't know if he is still struggling.

It's confusing because all my other fish are having a ball swimming around. No other fish is sitting on the substrate or clamping fins. There is no obvious slime coat, ich, parasite, or external injury evidence present. If I see him again I'll get a video, and if he hasn't moved in a hour, I'll lift the rock he's under up.

Honestly sometimes they just have a chill/sleep for a bit on their own, sometimes in very odd positions too where you think they must be dead! theyre proper little derps

I remember when I first got one it was contorted in a sword and I was like "no way it's dead" so I left to go get my phone and take a pic and when I come back it's looking up at me with these big innocent eyes like, "nice plant friend, 10/10 very comfortable". Weirdest moment in my 2 months fish keeping lol

I just saw it again. I don't think it's going to make it. It's breathing heavily on its side under a rock.
Edit: It's still moving around, a female is down there moving the sand around it and laying next to it. Do fish have that level on intelligence?

I have swim, if it's still suffering I'm going to euthanize it, but I expect it will probably already be dead.
I think I might insist on giving the fish back.

Update. The fish is in a different spot and is breathing more controlled. It's no longer on its side and still isn't displaying any other symptoms. I think I'm going to see how it does today.
