Corys do play dead if they are in shock or over stressed. I doubt that is what it is. Does he look bloated at all?

I really see many possibilities but nothing near conclusive.

It is not good news.

If you have not already, add an air stone. I am trying to think of a tonic. A treatment of mild salt (1tbls per 10 usg), MelaFix and PimaFix might perk him up.

Unfortunately he died this morning

He wasn't bloated when he died but he did have some red marks around his stomach. The other cory's are fine though so I'll wait a few days and see whether they show any symptoms and then do a substrate change.

Oh dear. Sorry to here that.

I myself am just beginning to appreciate what all can go wrong in a tank; it's kind of scary.
