I usually feed mine Tetramin Tablets, Hikari Algae Wafers & Wardley Shrimp Pellets. Also they eat fallen flakes. Is there any other foods I can feed them? Bloodworms wont sink... :X

Frozen bloodworms sink, they like tubliex worms to, peas, brimestrimp frozen.

They are as picky about food as Roseann Barr, just feed you other fish and they will clean up the leftovers, that's their job.

Hi ravekiss :)

Why not try feeding them live blackworms or tubifex worms? Corys love them and your other fish will too.

If your lfs doesn't carry them, check out Petland Discounts; they usually stock both kinds.

Any of these that don't get eaten immediately will go into the gravel where the corys will dig them out later when they want a snack. The important thing is to give them a good rinsing when you buy them and rinse them once a day until they have been eaten. :D

I have 3 smal panda corys, and they dont seem to like shrimp pelets, maybe there too small, or pellets too big?

How can I feed them tubiflex worms , if those cubes dont sink??

Hi frankycee :)

If your shrimp pellets say, "Wardley's Shrimp Pellets Formula" on the can, don't feed them to your corys. They are low in protien and the second largest ingredient is ground wheat. This is not appropriate food for corys. There was a time that shrimp pellets were good food for them, but they changed their recipe. A good flake food would be better for them.

To feed them the freeze dried tubifex worms, just hold a cube underwater for a few moments until it absorbs some water. Then gently rub it between your fingers and shake it until the worms separate and slowly sink to the ground. Your other fish will enjoy them on their way down too. :D

Really...thats good to know because thats the brand of shrimp pellets I have and I did notice them not liking it too much. What brand of SHrimp pellets are good in nutritional value?

Wardleys spirulina discs work good too. Both algae eaters and catfish alike eat them. My Irr. eat half a dozen each in one sitting each day :hyper: they eat em whole.

Hi ravekiss :)

Since I stopped using the Wardley's shrimp pellets, I haven't found another one to replace them with. I tried HBH, but the fish don't seem to like them so I stopped using them too.

Actually, IMHO, it's probably worth it to spend a little more for a high quality brand of flake food and skip the shrimp pellets altogether. I've been using Ocean Nutrition Brine Shrimp Plus, which has a nice 55.7% protien crude protien content.

To make sure that enough of the flakes reaches the bottom, hold some in your hand or between your fingers and, with your hand underwater, flick them downward. Your other fish will probably eat some on the way down, but some will reach the bottom. :D

My corys love tetra prima complete food, and the glow light tetras love them there food to.
