Hi folks, was wondering, with your experience, what would your recommendations be for the best brand of dry food for my cories (pandas),and what can you supplement their diet with?

tetra prima is always my first choice of food ..... supplement with bloodworm (live or frozen) , brine shrimp , daphnia , and algae wafers but they mite not eat these some of mine do some dont .... bloddworms etc should really be fed as a treat once or twice a week unless u are trying 2 condition them :)

Mine get hikari sinking wafers and I bought these "stick on tablets" - only they don't stick and my corys adore them.
I also feed frozen/live brine shrimp, daphnia and bloodworm. I did feed freeze dried but now I've got the frozen stuff I've put the freeze dried to one side as a back up.

What are the specific brands and names,ie Tetra Prima Cory Goodies,at the mo,mine are eating a bit of everything, but I'd like to get them something just for them.
Specifically for feeding I think after lights out as my damned greedy gouramis eat everything they can find.

full name on the container is tetra prima complete food in a yellow tub ....ebay do it in bulk amounts or smaller amounts but works out far cheaper than your LFS :)

One available on eBay,says it's for mid-water and bottom feeding tropicals. Is there a specific sinking pellet that's good?

imo u wont get a better cory food than tetra prima and the pro's 2 having the food is while the mid and top dwellers are eating wot stays at the top the rest has chance 2 sink 2 the bottoms so good food all round for all fish :) other than that any general sinking pellets will work jmc do a few kinds

Thanks for the help,I'm going to go for sinking pellets I think so I can feed them when it's dark.

sinking food i give mine
hikiari sinking wafers for catfish , loaches and bottom feeders
JMC catfish pellets

extras they have

frozen or fresh bloodworm , daphnia and brine shimp
they adore bits of butternut squash dropped in the tank

i feed tetra prima, tetra tabimin and also crushed flake. I feed frozen and live bloodworm as a treat or once a day if i am conditioning for breeding :)

Hi,

Mine are fed on,

King Bitish Catfish pellets, Hikari Tropical Crab Cuisine, Hikari Tropical Sinking Wafers, Tetra Prima Mini Granules,
Todays Freeze Dried Tubifex Worms, Todays Freeze Brine Shrimp, and frozen blood worm.

My catfish just eats whatever is left after my fish have had a go at my tropical flakes, is this not healthy for him? he eats all and well and has a slight pot belly, he also occasionally eats sinking pellets.

its not nessersarly bad 2 do it that way its just alot of ppl prefer 2 purposely feed cory's just 2 make sure they do get enough food ...but as u say urs has a nice round belly so seems he/she is getting enough :)

the reason many cory keepers tell new keepers to get special feed for the corys is that corys can quite easily be left to starve in a community tank with lots of other fish
but seeing as yours has got a nice chubby belly then he is getting enough food
