Hey cory lovers,
I am a huge fan of corys ever since i bought three bronze corys i have been hooked. I am getting a 50 gallon soon and after its cycled my first addition is going to be some corys, i really like how pandas and skunk corys look. However, i am aware that certain species require different care. so my question is what pecies of corys would go well (temperature and ph wise, I know they are all friendly) with the following list:\

6+ Glass vatfish
6+Boesmnani rainbowfish
Pair of blue german rams
Butterfly fish (Any suggestions??? Unable to find a lot of info)
bristlenose pleco
Corys (what species???)
Possibly ottos
Moonlight or some kind of peaceful gourami
amano shrimp

Any advice on what species of corys would do the best would be great? also any info on community butterfly fish would be great, i am having a hard time finding info... thanks

how about C.Metae i just found a pic of these guys ad i love em!!

It probably good if you also list your target water parameter for the community tank you are talking about. Also the filter situation and water change schedule.

I only have kept Pandas and Sterbais and Melanotanias and few un-identified "spot corys". And most have been kept in their tank so I can't comment much about the community setting also some of the fish you listed I have no clue what they like since I never kept those let alone with corys.

But I think the Pandas are definately considered as one of the delicate. I found them need high oxygenated water with good water movement. And generally speaking, they prefer the cool water although some may not because of their up-bringing. I keep mine in unheated tank with sponge power head. I think the temperature hover around 68~72F. And they too spawn every week.

And Sterbais prefer higher temperature of high 70's to low 80's. And I heard they can tolerate even higher, so that is why they are one of the Corys picked for the Discus tank. Mine are kept 78~82F and spawn like rabbit.

Anyway, good luck with your perfect match. Right water conditiion increase their life span. You can enjoy them longer. It is good to research about the fish before get them. And I am glad you are doing it. :good:
