Congrats on the eggs
Yes indeed..which i don't like hybrid fish...Congrats..i guess
Did I say anywhere that I have purposly done this? huh? no!
It is something that has just happened!
These two fish are ones that came with my free tank, I would not have ever had them if they were not 1) given to me 2) been from the same tank and raised together!
:grr:
wow sheesh i didnt say you did something wrong or anything, i just said that i dont like hybrid fish..sheesh people these days :/

Thanks Inchworm, by that pic the pepper is indeed a male.
So if they do hatch, what will they be? peppered bronze corys

Hi The-Wolf :)

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens :dunno:

In the meanwhile, just be sure that they have an airstone close to them, and they will hatch if they are fertile. If you have some methylene blue you could add that, but I don't think it makes much of a difference if you have good water circulation.

Have you seen any color change in them yet?

some are white and some are clearish, does this make a differance?

I've noticed my cory eggs start to turn black right before hatching. This is what you want to watch for. :)

Hi Wolfie :)

As they mature, you will see the eggs darken somewhat. It could be that they turn ivory or almost any shade darker. The important thing is that they will remain firm.

It is when they turn stark white and soften that you will know that they are not viable. If they go white and fuzzy they have been stricken with fungus. Almost always some eggs will be lost, so be prepared for this. You can remove them or not. I usually leave them, since the good ones will hatch before the fungus can spread to them. :D

i appologize too, for not making things more clear, good luck!

hi Inchworm
they all failed to hatch. :/
At lesat I have a better understanding of what to do next time :)

Hi Wolfie :)

I was afraid you were going to say that. :/

I hope you will get a few more corys and try raising a batch. I think you will find them a pleasant change of pace. IMHO, there are few things more delightful to watch than a tankful of young corys at play.

A few of the articles on the top ofTHIS page will explain what to do with cory eggs. Im pretty sure this info is trustworthy. And bl on the infertility, next time maybe.
