My cories spawned yeterday morning for the second time and I have just gone out to get some fungus treatment for the tank. Would you use a full dose of treatment? Im going to use tetra fungistop.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Duck and Dive :)

Congratulations on the spawning! :D But what are you doing with the eggs? Have you moved them to another container? Did you add an airstone? Or, will the adult fish be removed and the fry raised in the spawning tank? How large is it? What kind or corys do you have? What is the water temperature?

The more information you can give us, the better advise you will get. In the meanwhile, wait before adding anything to your tank.

Thank you! :)

The tank that the eggs are in is a 60L powered by an air filter, they are bronze corydoras and the parents are in a 180L tank. The temperature in the 60l is around 25 degrees.

I managed to get some pictures of the eggs (not the best quality):

They even laid them on my algea magnet!

Hi Duck and Dive :)

Thanks for posting the pics. :D

Did you put something in the tank to prevent fungus? It's not necessary if there is enough water circulation around them but you can usually expect to have some duds in the batch. A few might not be fertile or just not develop right.

I'd suggest adding a thin layer of sand to the bottom of the tank. I started out using a bare bottomed tank but decided that sand is easier to keep clean. Stirring it with your fingers when you do water changes will help keep losses due to bacterial infection at a minimum. If you choose to keep it bare bottomed, be sure to keep the bottom spotless.

The two essential things to raise cory fry successfully are lots of clean water and plenty of food. What are you planning to feed them?

Thanks for th advise! Well they hatched this morning! They are tiny! I would take a photo but I think they are a bit small at the moment.

I will be feeding them baby brine shrimp and hikari first bites to start with.

They have done it again! Just went up to go to bed and feed the fish and the corys have spawned again!!! And I already have 40 cory fry swimming around! So i removed them from the main tank in with the other corys in the rearing tank. And to top off a busy night two guppies gave birth as well. I am over-run with fry and eggs! :S

help me!

will add pics tommorow hopefully.
