Well as the title states, we have cory eggs in the tank!

I managed to remove a few from the side of the tank and move the thermometer (which was covered in eggs) to a breeding net within the main tank; however they are covering the filter and plants.

Just wondering what do we do with the eggs?

IF they hatch what do they need to eat?

How long will they take to hatch and how big are they when hatched (I'm wondering whether to set up my small tank for them or to leave them in the main tank).

The tank has 6 cories, neon tetras, galaxy rasbora and shrimp...oh and MTS and 2 assassin snails.

Keeping the eggs away from other fish and snails is essential for their survival. The breeding net is a good idea as you ensure the same water characteristics. I know that other people are 'harvesting' the eggs, but I do not know how they do this.

There is a very nice post about corydora breeding here on the forum. Read this link: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/165155-the-breeding-of-corydoras-catfish/page__view__findpost__p__1357754

Good luck!

Good luck!

Excellent, thank you.

Some of the eggs in the main tank have been eaten (not suprising really), the ones in the net have also been eaten/fallen out (some are still in the net)...one of the ADF in the tank had managed to get itself in the breeding net, I mean seriously GRR lol.

Congrats! I love having my corys breed!

What I do, is take watever they laid the eggs on(a removable object in the tank), and either put it in a breeder net if it's small enough or put it in my 20 gal grow out tank. The biggest problem with Cory eggs is that it is really easy for them to get fungus on them and die and not even hatch. So what I do is put a power head blowing a current on them(not to strong) and most of the eggs will hatch!
I just feed my baby cories crushed fish food. Crushed very good and make sure the food gets to the bottom!

The babies are VERY small! Smaller than a newborn guppy fry.
It is not a good idea to put the eggs in the main tank with the other fish. Although I found a baby Cory that was about 1.5 cm long in the main tank that hatched and grew that big all by itself! But you should set up a tank to the babies
