yes, I'd be looking to do a 50% water change personally :good: was your cory looking poorly before? What kind of cory?

thanks , i got it a few weeks ago, i never seen it eat much, it was very small,im sure i bought a poorly fish,my other corys are fine, ive done about a 50%water change, all the other fish are fine, the dead cory for the last 2 days was just sat on the bottom, thanks for your help, off to get a nother cory,a panda cory if possible, but ive never seen any in my lfs

I reckon if you ever feel the need to ask yourself, 'Should I do a water change', then the answer is always yes!

how old is the set up you have? panda corys are considered by a lot of people the most sensitive of the species.

Have you got a test kit of your own? if not your money would be better invested in 1 (liquid testkit) as it will save the lives of fish in futher, to me theres no point going buying more fish as it sounds like your tank is still not cycled

im goin to buy a test kit , ive been taking water to my lfs,but youre dead right, i shudnt really buy more until my tank is right, THANKYOU :good:

LFS aren't always reliable, mine is very good on advice but they only test for nitrAte and with a strip test :/

Not just that, its a pain in the bum to go to the shop every time you want your water testing. What if you want to test it at 11 pm? You can't go down then, and your fish can't afford for you to wait really. A test kit is a worthwhile purchase while your tank is very new and you are inexperienced. Even more experienced fish keepers rely on test results often when adding large numbers of stock or if they've had a number of unexplained deaths.
