So, I really want a snake, one that I can hold all the time, and will stay small. I'm looking for a buddy who will be content wrapped around me during the afternoons while i do chores in the house or whatever. i recently watched my neighbors corn snake, and I absolutely adore them. However, the problem is, I can only get a 10 gallon tank. So, is it possible to keep it in a 10 gallon for a life time - or at the very least, 2 years? If not, what kind of snake would you recommend? Something calm and more than content to just wrap around me and chill! My teacher had one, that would just wrap around my neck and sit there all class, quite the fun and nice little bud!

i fostered a californian king once for a reptile rescue, she was out the tank more than in it, really affectionate and calm

Not big enough, even cornsnakes get a good 4ft long! At least a 3ft vivarium is necessary...

To be honest, fish tanks arent ideal for snakes, they hate being approached from above, you would be far more likely to get bitten and stress the snake out, and its harder to regulate temperatures in a glass tank thats open at te top (heat rises) which is another reason vivarium open at the front.

Corn snakes are really active by the way, you would have it running all over you none stop... a royal python would be much better but they dont make good first snakes as they are really fussy feeders...

Defo not a king snake as a first snake unless you want to be put off by it when it bites you  they are food monsters and lunge at their mice and dont mind grabbing you in the process!

my brother has a ball python, she sits on his head some times or just chills with them in their bed and really loves his fiance but idk how big you want the snake to get

Yeah, if tank size wasn't an issue, I'd be getting another red tailed boa constrictor

they are beautiful my friend had that would cuddle up with is dog when he let it out
if you cant get a snake, you could always get like a gecko or some kind of lizard, were getting one for our 10g that cracked

idk, ive always wanted a bearded dragon, some thing like that but i know some can get big
but idk its hard finding some thing like reptiles to put into a 10g

Perhaps a house snake or a garter snake?
I got a couple of boas and a king, planning on getting a royal soon, but not sure.
Its either a royal or a fish tank hmmm.

Females grow larger to around 120cm and males grow to around 75cm
