i recently got four julii cories (i think i got them on monday) and they arent eating. it was understandable that they didnt eat for the first or second day cause they had been through so much stress blah blah blah but i put some algae wafer in the tank a few minutes ago and they arent eating it. they are all hanging around in the same spot so i put it pretty much next to them (as close as i could without them swimming away) and they havent noticed it. the only fish that did were the neons.
i dont know what i should do. i dont want them starving :(

Try some live bloodworms  I've heard that cories love them, and yours would most likey go for some  I hate it when fish refuse to eat, good luck :)

Try night-time feeding with flashlight.

Are they moving around, at least? If not, then there might be a problem. Otherwise, they migth just be "sleeping".

Maybe they just don't like the algae wafers. Try different variaties like sinking shrimp pellets, or the bw's like dwarfs suggested. You'll just have to play around till they find something they like. I hope you quarintiened (sp) them first just in case. It would suck if there was something wrong with them and they brought it into your tank.I use the O.S.I. Shrimp pellets for mine. they have 38% Crude Protien so they should be pretty good for them.

thanks for the help :)
i will get some other sinking foods and some live bloodworms.

Tempestuousfury - they are moving around. they havent stopped since i got them lol.

Temp is fine. :p I know how hard it is to type out that name, and it's easier than copying and pasting.

Then I would say it's the food.

Feed them with a turkey baster if you feel the other fish are eating the blood worms before the corydoras get to them.

I find that my corys are way more active at night. What always gets them going is flake food put directly into the filter stream at night or early morning while it's still pretty dark. Especially if the tank hasn't been fed all day. Give that a go.

I guess what I'm wondering is... He's had the fish since Monday and says they aren't eating. Perhaps he just hasn't observed them eating. I would expect that they haven't quite settled in yet. They are probably picking up leftovers at night when it's quiet. My corys are shy, any movement near the tank sends them scurrying. They pretty much sleep all day. It's their nature. Getting some more tempting food is obviously a good idea but mine really do go after the flake. Is one bit of overfeeding really concern for an amonia spike? -_-

My juliis love frozem/live bloodworm. I feed with a baster and they suck it up like spaghetti!! They do not care one bit for those fancy hikari wafers I got for them but they will eat flake with no problem. They also like omega one shrimp pellets (all my fish love those) :D

right, today i got some Sera Viformo, sinking tablets which my lfs recommended after i told them of my problem. they also suggested shrimp pellets but they had sold out (i will get some when they get some more in). anyway i put half a tablet into the tank as soon as i got home and again my juliis ignored it. however the neons found it straight away (im started to really hate those damn neons now lol!). the juliis were sitting right near it and swimming around it but paying it no attention! is it worth a try putting some in at night?
btw they seemed pretty hungry today cos they were sifting through the sand like crazy!

edit: ok i put some tablet in a little while ago and the neons went straight to it even though it was dark!

I just got 4 Panda's and they don't seem to care much for Tetra's Tabimin sinking tablets.... will try some frozen blood worms or maybe brine shrimp later.
