Anyone confirm if these are all the same type ?

As far as I know I bought a torch coral. (the 2 big ones on the rock)

There is also a smaller one on the same rock although the tips are different.

The two big ones are out during the light period and at night they retract.

The small one comes out when the lights are off and has sharp pointed tips.

Both the bigs ones on the one rock are the same, the other two are the same that they have pointed tips and extend out at night.

two photos are here - cant attach to this post for some reason.

This is the second one with the lights off - notice the pointed tips.

Theyre all Euphyllia, the tips should either be pink or gold/green...Im sure there may be some other variations but those are the most common. Really fun coral and grows really fast. I had a frag about that size that is now a little bigger than a baseball. Enjoy! :good:

I have been advised on another forum they are majano anenomes and should be taken out - anyone confirm ?

I havnt seen majano with tips that colorful before so I dont think so. You could try squirting it with joes juice. If it dies it's Majano, if it shrivels or does nothing then it's not :p Joes juice is pretty much the best way of removing Majano's anyway so it may be worth investing in. That is...if you WANT to get rid of them. Some people dont mind them and just keep their spawning under control with joes juice, some even have majano tanks...your choice. Like I said, I dont think it is BUT that second pic does sort of resemble one with the bubble tips.

Well try joes jiuce as mentioned earlier and see how they react. If they are majano then they will die and good ridance. \if they dont die then they are not...

Majano close up into little gum drops in my experience... much different than a torch. However, I would not advise squirting it with Joe's Juice. Even if it is a torch, et cetera, it will die when fed the JJ; there is no way in my mind that anyone could create a chemical that selectively kills two unrelated species and no others.

On that note, I personally love majano and am very happy to fnally get several specimens. They have moved about the tank and have caused no trouble, and in fact they seem to be having a hard time competing with my other livestock.

ok, im gonna annoy it and take a photo.

how the hell do you annoy it ?

Park over the end of its drive ?
Loud Music ?
A rendition of joe pasquale's "i know a song that'll get on your nerves" ?

lol!

That to me looks to be Euphyllia, I say that because the foot didnt seem to close up over the tentacles to protect the mouth, the tentacles seem to have just retracted into the base which is what happens with euphyllia, they also seem to have that brilliant neon glow that euphyllia gets when it's all shriveled up, I guess with all the organisms inside of it clustered together.

All 4 of those are definitely anemones although none are mojano anemones. In that last pic you provided those three anemones clustered on the rock are pest anemones for sure. Dunno their name, but my LFS got them in recently and they spread like WILDFIRE. Had to joes-juice them all.

IMO, the first two look almoast as though they are small long tentacled anemones and the second pic looks like it is a very small bulb-tip or perhaps a sebae anemone. Have no idea what the third one is
