Coral Beauty Dead :(

Hi all....I think my coral beauty has turn up his fins, as not seen for 24hrs....The only thing is I can't find him,I think he has jamed itself under the rocks somewhere...So it looks like i'm going to take the rocks out to find him and remove...How many rocks I need to take out, god only knows,could just one,or it may be the lot.....Including all the corals...

All I ask is,has anyone got any advice how I can keep this operation as painless as possible....

Sorry for your loss, I had the same thing happen to my Coral Beauty.
We took a photo of the tank before we moved the rocks so that we could set it back up the way it was.

Always a PITA when you have to remove rockwork. Had to redo mine when a darn Pistol Shrimp run amuck.
My Flameback dissapears for hours on end sometimes so maybe all is not lost. Lets know the outcome either way.

Thank all for the replys...Right heres my plan...I have 25 lts of fresh saltwater being mixed right now....I,m planning to siphon out as much as I dare out of the tank and but the corals and what ever snails and hermits I can find in..And put a heater and powerhead in the bucket..How long have I got with such set up???


As i take the rock out,I will put in a bucket of fresh salt water to stop any dying off...

Find my little friend.

Then rebuild the rock work....


But off to lfs for some more milliput as may not have enough......

You should be fine, I did this the other week and my corals where in the Bucket for a couple of hours if not more and they were fine

Hiya...Right here's one for yer....Just took all the corals and rock out....And there is no sign of her ....

I know she was there on friday as I was doing water test's and it always comes up to say hello when I open up the tank....It was'nt a jumper unlike the the 2 clowns....

So what happend to it, god only know's......

It was a quite a big fish (well about 50mm or so) And after two days I would of thought there would some sort of remnant of it..


Only thing I can think is...It may of jumped out on Friday and eiter the cat or a very mischeivous Beagle of ours has run off with it....

Might be a little far fetched...But thats the only thing I can think off.......

I never put it past any fish to jump from a tank. So that's always a possibility, also look under the stand and anything else in case he made his way under something. Sorry for your loss.

Dwarf angels are excellent jumpers I had to cover the acclimatisation bucket after it had carpet surfed.
Even then it was trying to escape.
You dont have any back chambers in that style of tank do you!

Yes Big C its a orca 550....And no it was not in any of the rear chambers ...It was the 1st place I looked and I had them all out this afternoone.......So its a complete mystery.... ......


So the only thing is that its has jumped out and either the dog or cat has made off with it.....
