Hello folks ...

I have a new cycled tank about 8 weeks old ... I treated an outbrake of Ich with Aquari Sol .. Copper Sulfate ... currently the Copper level reads about zero only after several water changes ... in the meantime I also have significant Diatom growth ....

1. Any idea of small Catfish for a 20 gallon tank that would feed on Diatoms ??
2. Could the Diatoms have absorbed enough Copper to make feeding on them toxic ??

The tank already has three danios and three Serpae tetra. pH = 8.0. gH = 300 ppm .. kH = 180 ppm. When treated with copper the treatment levels hit about .45 - .50 ppm.

Thanks ...

Good Day ... B)

Hi The Mohave Kid :)

I would suggest you wait before adding more fish. I don't know of any that will help with your problem.

Try to get the situation under control by lots of water changes. If that doesn't work, ask in the Plants and Planted Tanks forum. I think the members who post there will have a better grasp on how to solve this matter.

Good luck with it. :D
