cool new fish

hey thanks for all the responses. I think i mioght go wiht a betta. and like 2 more neons. I know i bought the sharks just so i could have the excuse to buy another bigger tank. :D the loach is shy of all the fish have seen no aggresion. He is fun to watch dig though  MY tank is well plannted and the power filter works great..............................Another question. Do femal Mollies become pregnat every 3-4 weeks without males? I know that they are usually pregnant but do they still get "knocked up" :fun: when the females are isolated. this Forum is great help and a lotta fun thanks everyone who has replied

I like corys, they don't get too big and they are ok in small tanks, they also are best in groups and sometimes I swear my panda corys are playing.

I have had my common loach for years, and he is a bit teritorial, but he seems to have calmed down with age, I haven't seen him start a fight since my botia's went (they did not get on) and he's quite happy with all my fish in my community tank now.

As for mollies, I think I read somewhere that mollies are able to deliver a few broods from 1 fertilization, like they store it or something, so I wouldn't be surprised if your isolated fish still had babies.

Most livebearers can store the sperm for up to three broods of fry, so if they are pregnant now and give birth look forward to at least one more batch if not 2

I'm not sure if it applies to Mollies, but I have read that some live bearers can store sperm for future use, so it may be possible.

...wow must be a time lag, or I just type real slow, I swear Les's post wasn't there when I posted mine    ...well nice to see I got my info right though. :p

I personally wouldn't add anything else in your tank, if I were you. The rule of fish keeping is 1 inch of fish PER gallon. That's what I've been told at my store, but many people try and go over it. I personally wouldn't add the betta, because he may attack the mollies or go after the tetras. I had one in my aggressive tank, and he was beating up balas; so I took him out. I know that may answers may be silly, because I can't even maintain my own tank.

You have a good point BG. We want to hear personal views on what they see. :)
