I had a really talkative budgie some years ago. He broke his leg and I put a Swan Vestas match on as a split. You should have seen his face light up. Just before the rest of him did when he walked onto the sandpaperAs i’m only 14 and already have a dog and a lot of fish. My parents don’t like the thought of getting another pet. Although I would pay for EVERYTHING and they wouldn’t have to lift a finger or pay a penny. I just don’t know how to convince them Any ideas?
Wow, that's super cool! A zoo? Goodluck if you do end up getting budgies, I'm sure you'll love it. Horses are amazing animals as well, do you ride?I honestly don’t plan on going to college as i’m already starting up a small business as a horse trainer. And my best friend owns a zoo, and I work there in my free time with a bunch of exotic animals including birds. Yes I would get two and they would have a lot of time out of the cage as i’m homeschooled so i’m almost always home and my dog tends to leave other animals alone but if for some reason he didn’t I would separate them right away. And yes, I understand the care requirements of budgies.
Thank you! Yes. Her grandma I should say owns the zoo, but I work there lol and yes I’m a hunter jumperWow, that's super cool! A zoo? Goodluck if you do end up getting budgies, I'm sure you'll love it. Horses are amazing animals as well, do you ride?
This old thread deserves resurrection. Anyone who even remotely thinks that they should have a parakeet should go get one. I want one so bad but "She Who Must Be Obeyed" has dug in her heels and forbids it. I have a way of being annoying , however , and I will eventually win the day.Definitely resurrected this ole thread, lol.
I can tell you what, if I brought home a canary behind my parent's backs it would go. Just because you did it or it can be done once in a while, does not mean it's a good idea. (Unless you can explain to me why it would be?) That's completely irresponsible and childish. Just as dumb as a 2-year-old sneaking a little cookie. This advice is only going to get some kid in trouble or kicked out of the forum. (I can hear it now..."A member of my forum told me it would work and be a good idea mom and dad.") An animal should ALWAYS be discussed with your parents if you are still living with them and supplies and plans for this animal should be prepped in advance. They are not toys, they are new (and permanent I hope) members of the family. When you get your own house, you can make your own rules. My parents have their reasons and I am sure others do too.I had one when I was a kid. Just go get him and don't tell them. That's what I did. They'll be mad for a couple days but they won't make you get rid of him.
Note: I can already hear the howl over this advice. Put your milk bottle down.
