Convicts

Ok if you really think that it is neccesary to have a 29 gallon tank for one pair of convicts you are an idiot i have 2 pair in a ten gallon with the males being 3 inches and females 2 they get along fine they just don't grow to full size but i like that they won't grow to full size they look alot cooler to me and you can have other fish in the tank but just not while they have fry or are protecting there young... I want to know what yall think about this i think that it is fine i also have a 80 gallon salt water tank so its not like i am a newbie.

Firstly, we don't call names around here! If you believe someone is wrong, then state your opinion without cutting someone down!

Second off! A 10g is NOT big enough for 1 con let alone 1 pair and ESPECIALLY 2 pairs like you say! You have never kept 2 breeding pairs of cons in a 10g tank.

What do you mean they don't grow to full size if kept in a smaller tank? That's hogwash. So does that mean I can keep a saltwater shark in a 200g tank because it won't outgrow his surroundings even tho it grows to 10-20 feet in the Ocean?

If you imagine that stuffing large, territorial cichlids into a 10 gallon tank will keep them small, and yet keep them healthy, I don't think its smb that's the idiot around here

I'd like to know where this "small tanks keep fish small" myth came from. Actually, bad water and bad food keeps fish small - and weak.

Ok I take back the idoit remark but still the none growing thing is very true i have had them for a year and they have grow very little if that and they both have paired off and became life long mates reproducing about once a month these fish are very healthy and have a great color. cichlids are very happy fish the only trouble i have with them is evry once in a while one of the them will get to close to anothers fry and the will nip at there fins
sorry to all offended
