how do u know if they have spawned if there in a rockery?

most likely they 'dissapear' for a few days, if they have you'll see them guiding fry around

yep cons seem best perents......had spawns from them be4 n they do protect....
my keyholes spawned last night and all eggs went within morning app she usually eats em
