Convicts Having A Domestic!

Last week I noticed a lot of what I thought was poop floating on the gravel after looking a little closer I noticed the poop was actually a load of Convict fry, it was great. Everything was fine but today the male has started becoming quite violent towards the female, he just rams her when shes looking after the kids. Is this normal or should he be removed. They are no marks on the female so I think he's just ramming, not biting?

It is normal in that he's ready to spawn again. If you want to raise the fry, take the male out, for the time being.

after my convicts spawn the male beats the female for about 4 days and then they go back to normal, so yes just normal convict behaviour.

Your right there, my 2 now own 3 quarters of the tank.
