Right now i have a 25 gallon with 3 tetras and 3 female betas. Just wondering if if would be ok if i switched to live plants. and if i should add the plants one by one.

you dont need the plant section :) yes you can just add all your plants at once. however you need to make sure you are going to have enough light to sustain the plants. if you have low light then it might be best to go for the plants that can live with less light like anubias, elodea etc for more species of hardy plants you might need to ask the plants section. but there is nothing wrong with putting some live plants in your tank and you dont need to put them in one by one :)

very nicee

Would a male betta be ok with 3 tetras a molly and 3 females?

Just make sure that you try to do a bleach dip (20-1) is good. and than a short boil just to make sure you don't get snailed.

You can not have a male betta in with a female. (except to breed them) The male will probably kill all the females or at least damage them badly. I n nature they have a "large" are to hide. In your tank they don't. Don T.

I've heard of giving plants a quick bleach dip in weak bleach solution (1 prat bleach to 20 parts water) but boiling? Surely that would be instant death for the plants?

When you buy some plants make sure you give them a good rinse and be on the look out for snails/eggs :)

i wouldnt bleach or boil the plants...you might kill them  rinse them under warm water but dont boil them.

As long as the bleach mix is weak and you don't leave them in for more than a few minutes it should be fine. Tried and tested method apparently, not that I've ever used it myself. Generally I put plants in a bucket of cold water and give them a good rinse. Usually takes a while to plant/tie them to wood so they stay in the bucket for a few hours. Often I find snails that have decided to explore the bucket, so I grab them :D
